Olive Tree Heritage Project: Preserving Palestinian Culture in Saint John
Rooted in history, growing in community.
For centuries, the olive tree has been a symbol of life, resilience, and heritage for Palestinians. Just like the olive tree, Palestinian culture stands strong, deeply rooted in history, art, food, and traditions passed down through generations.
We are launching the Olive Tree Heritage Project — a permanent gallery space in Saint John designed like a small museum, dedicated to showcasing Palestinian history, art, embroidery, food, and cultural traditions.
But this space will be more than just a gallery. It will include a community café, where people can gather, connect, and learn something new. Visitors will not only experience Palestinian heritage but also share conversations over traditional flavors, bridging cultures and building understanding.
This will be the first of its kind in our region — a living space of education, culture, and solidarity, where every person who walks through the doors can connect with the story of Palestine.
Why We Need Your Support
We are raising funds to:
Secure a permanent space for the gallery & café
Create exhibitions featuring Palestinian embroidery, art, artifacts, and photography
Launch cultural programs (talks, workshops, film screenings, cooking sessions)
Furnish and equip the café to serve traditional Palestinian foods and drinks
Build a sustainable community hub that future generations can grow into
